FORDE - R. Moira (Densmore), of Dartmouth, formerly of Noel Shore, passed away peacefully at The Ivy Meadows at Beaverbank on August 31, 2016, as a result of her struggle with Alzheimer's disease and cancer. Born in Noel Shore, October 4, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Clair and Audrey (Miller) Densmore. Music was an integral part of her life, whether it was dancing, playing the piano or the accordion. She was a skilled seamstress, fantastic cook, and an enthusiastic fan of the Toronto Blue Jays. She loved to spend time back at her roots on the farm at Noel Shore, and she looked forward to her visits to her grandchildren and grand-puppies in Guelph. Moira worked for the federal government (military) at Eastern Command and Windsor Park. She retired from a position with the provincial government at the Nova Scotia Hospital. She is survived by daughter Krista (Chris Sentance), grandchildren Avery and Tristan, Guelph, Ontario; sisters Vivian Leighton and Iris (Brian Lyghtle); brothers Roddie (Sharon) and Lorrie (Margaret). She was predeceased by former husband Ken Forde, sister Kathleen, brother Don, and brother-in-law Tom Leighton. The family extends sincere appreciation to the staff of The Ivy Meadows for their care of Moira these past five years and also to her friend Marjorie Woodbury who visited her faithfully. Thanks to Pat and Iris for tending to her extra needs. Cremation has taken place, with no visitation by request. A graveside service will be held at the Lower Selma Heritage Cemetery on September 3, 2016 at 2pm, Rev. Natalie Buchanan-Rutherford officiating. Those wishing to remember Moira may donate to the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia, The Friends of The Ivy Meadows, or the Canadian Breast Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 354 Kennetcook, ph-1-902-362-2440 or please visit our website at www.allenfh.ca to sign the guest book and send private condolences.
