WILE - Russell Theodore, age 87, of Rawdon Gold Mines, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016 in the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax. Born in Wile Settlement on January 9, 1929, he was the son of the late Ray and Flora (Leopold) Wile, and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Russell drove taxi in Halifax for 42 years. Russell is survived by his wife, Elsie (Harvie) and daughter Sharon (Eric), son Bruce (Judy), and daughter Pam (Keith); grandchildren, Shauna (Ghislain), Sara (Steven), and Shawn (Natasha); great-grandchildren, Zachary, Matthew, Kaitlyn, and Lexi. Russell was predeceased by his sister Ruby and brothers, Murray (in infancy), Harvey, Royce, and Ivan. Cremation has taken place with no visitation as per Dad's wishes. A private graveside service for immediate family will be held at the West Gore Cemetery, Rev. Angus R. MacDonald officiating. Donations in memory of Russell may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 5826 South St, Halifax, NS B3H 1S6, or a charity of choice.
