Obituary of Krista Thornton-Harvie

THORNTON-HARVIE, Krista Lee, age 51, of Gormanville, passed away peacefully at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro on Sunday, January 15, 2017. Born in Halifax on November 7, 1965, she was a daughter of the late Ron and Catherine "Sue" (Melanson) Thornton. Krista came to Hants County in Grade 8. She spent many years working in Halifax as a nanny for the family of Dan and Karen Flinn, then moved back to Hants County when she married. She was a wonderful decorator, homemaker, wife, and mother. Krista is survived by her husband, Tracey; son, William; sister, Nancy Kiley (Colin); grandmother, Dot Melanson; parents-in-law Noyce and Marsha Harvie; brother-in-law David Harvie (Charles Wedge), and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request. A graveside committal service will be held at Burntcoat Cemetery on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 11am, Rev. Angus R. MacDonald officiating, with a reception to follow in the Green Hall, North Noel Road. Donations in memory of Krista may be made to Burntcoat Cemetery Association, 5090 Hwy 215, East Noel, NS, B0N 2C0. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the J.
