Obituary of Laurie Laverne White

WHITE – Laurie Laverne, age 85, of Noel Road, passed away on June 28, 2017 at home. Born in Noel Road on November 24, 1931, he was a son of the late George and Agnes (Miller) White. Laurie worked in construction most of his working life and retired from the Department of Transportation. He will be missed by his wife, Ella; sons, Calvin and Glendon (Sherry); grandchildren, Jordan, Yolanda (Darrell) and Alayna (Scott); great-grandchildren, Brooke, Brianna, and Braden; sisters, Roma (Erick) and Cindy (Fred); stepsister Ladene (Laurie); stepbrothers Leon (Sheila) and Douglas (Josephine); and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Laurie was predeceased by brothers Arleigh (Jessie) and Cory; stepbrother Kenny (Shelley); stepsister Lillias; stepmother Annie; and daughter-in-law Cynthia. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request; a memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 2 at 2pm at J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook, Rev. Angus R. MacDonald officiating, with a private interment at St. James Presbyterian Cemetery and a reception at the Little White Hall, both in Noel Road.
