Obituary of Melissa Megan Ward

WARD – Melissa Megan, age 35, passed away at her home in Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow on August 10, 2017. Born in Innisfail, Alberta on July 29, 1982, she was a daughter of Ken Ward and the late Denise (Thomas) Ward. Melissa is survived by her father, Ken Ward; her sister, Nikole (Jason) Roloson; nephew, Austin Roloson; niece, Autumn Roloson; her Nanny, Bev Atkinson; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and many loving friends. Besides her mother, Melissa was predeceased by her grandparents, Nathan and Alverta Ward, and Ward and Joan Thomas. Melissa enjoyed participating in various work programs that gave her a sense of purpose. She loved music and dancing, expressing herself through painting and scrapbooking, and caring for her baby dolls. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Glen Haven Manor for their care and kindness.  Cremation has taken place; a Celebration of Melissa’s Life will be held on Sunday, August 13 from 1-3pm at J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook. Interment at a later date. Donations in memory of Melissa may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 5657 Spring Garden Road, Halifax, NS B3J 3R4; or the Children’s Wish Foundation, 238 Brownlow Ave, Dartmouth, NS B3B 1W2.
