Obituary of Evelyn Mae Lake

Lake – Evelyn Mae, age 82, of Tennecape passed away peacefully March 27, 2018 at the Hants Community Hospital in Windsor with her family by her side after a short battle with cancer.  Born in Burlington, NS on March 4, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Gesner and Lena (Sanford) Tucker. She worked at National C. Company Lunenburg as well as several restaurants in Sackville and Windsor, NS until coming to Tennecape to be a loving companion to the late Ronald A. McLellan. Evelyn is survived by her children, Wayne, Susan, Donna and Sherry, and stepson Matthew (Cindy) McLellan; grandchildren Lawrence (Robin), Hollie (Troy), Jason, Ryan and Emily Mclellan; several great-grandchildren; brothers Clinton (Alice) and Ivan (Carolina), and sister Eileen (Lawrence).  Besides her parents she was predeceased by companion Ronald, son Sterling, sister Carolyn, and brothers, Lawrence, Gerald, Gary, and Darrell. We would like to say a special thank you to her good friend Pam Houle for her care and support to Evelyn during her illness, and to VON Home care workers, and Palliative care nurses. Cremation has taken place; at Evelyn’s request there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held Monday April 2, 2018 at 2pm at the Tennecape Cemetery, Rev. Garnet Parker officiating.
