Hennigar, Gary Wainwright-78 of Upper Onslow, formerly of Maitland, it is with saddened hearts that we announce Gary’s peaceful passing after a brief illness in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro on February 27, 2023. Born in Noel on June 30, 1944, he was the son of the late Waynie and Phyllis (Dickson) Hennigar. Gary was a hard worker who worked in construction for most of his life. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays fan, who rarely missed a game and never missed the highlights. In his younger years he played for the Noel Road Braves, later he played for the Old Timers. He loved country music and he and Lois rarely missed a dance on a Friday or Saturday night. He was a staunch Liberal and made sure his kids always knew how to vote. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 57 years; Lois (King), daughter Tammi (Matt) and the apple of his eye; granddaughter Grace. Sisters; Linda, Adrienne, Corina, Sherry and Sandra, brothers; Randall, Roger, Warren, Melvin and Trent, as well as many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, including his special nephew; David Connors. Besides his parents, Gary is predeceased by his only son; Sean, brothers; David and Kenny, sister Cindy, and his best buddy; Elmo White. A Service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 2pm in the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook, Rev. Natalie Buchanan-Rutherford officiating. A Private family graveside burial will take place at a later date in the Anglican Church Cemetery, Maitland. A Reception will follow the service in the Little White Hall.
