Wright, Golda Yvonne – 77 of Kennetcook, passed away on Saturday, April 1st, 2023, in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Noel Road NS, on May 29th, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Robbie and Bessie White. Golda started her career in 1963, working with Scotia Bank in Halifax. She later transferred to the Kennetcook branch in 1978, where she would work until her retirement in 2001. Golda soon made the decision she wasn’t ready for retirement yet and took a position working at Victory Credit Union in Kennetcook. Golda was a very kind soul that always put others’ wellbeing ahead of her own. She appreciated the little things in life and cherished time spent with her family more than anything. Golda enjoyed challenging herself with a good puzzle, knitting or a game of bingo. She loved singing along with friends and family to some of her favourite songs with a cold beverage in hand. Golda will be dearly missed by family, friends and all who knew her. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Palliative care unit. Golda is survived by daughters; Darla (Art) Terry, Trinda Wright (Bob), Tara (Leon) Wright, grandchildren; Jenna, Nicole, Blake, Trista, Kyra, great-grandson Jordan, sisters; Joan, Shelda, Jolene, brother Ried and best friend that was like a sister; Brenda White. Besides her parents, Golda is predeceased by husband Thomas “Tommy”, sister Stella and brothers; Roscoe, Artie, Elmo and Rueben. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6th, 2023, from 6 to 8pm, a Service will be held on Friday, April 7th, 2023, at 2pm, both in the J Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook. Rev. Mike Poworoznyk officiating. A Private Family Burial will follow the Service. Donations in memory of Golda can be made to the Hants North Baseball Association.
