Salter, Garnet Valorous – 76 of Centre Burlington; it is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Garnet on May 3rd, 2023, in Centre Burlington surrounded by family. Born in Centre Burlington on March 10th, 1947, he was the son of the late Jean Stoodley. Garnet was raised by his grandparents, the late Charles and Lottie Salter on the family homestead in Centre Burlington. Garnet spent the majority of his working career as an employee at Fundy Gypsum Company in Windsor until the mine eventually closed in 2011. He made many great friends and created long lasting memories during his employment which he loved to reminisce and share with family and friends. After Garnet’s retirement, he continued working for several different companies operating heavy machinery. Although he loved running all heavy equipment; the bulldozer was his true passion and joy. Garnet could captivate you with his big smile and happy laugh as he shared one of his many tales of his fascinating life. Garnet will be greatly missed by family, friends and all who knew him, especially granddaughter; Hallie, they spent much time together; her eating chocolate and Garnet sipping on his beloved Pepsi. Garnet is survived by sons; Richard (Michelle) Salter of Centre Burlington, Russell (Tasha) Salter of Centre Burlington, Chris (Gidget) Laffin of Walton along with several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Cremation has taken place; respecting Garnet’s wishes, there will be no service or visitation, a private family Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Garnet can be made to a charity of ones’ choosing.
