Our friendship from the outside seemed unlikely.....with myself having been so young, but on the inside it made total sense. We just clicked as people! You were such a kind and thoughtful man. You always had an ear to lend and knew how to make people around you happy! When I left for basic you came in-house at Staples for the day to give me brownies AND cupcakes because you couldn’t decide which were better and some wooden spoons so I ‘wouldn’t have to eat with a stick’’ - you are someone who I 100% credit with having shaped who I became as a person. I will cherish the memories I have of talking to you for hours and hours about everything and anything. I will never forget you my Saturday buddy!

John's kindness and enjoyable chats will be missed. John was an honest and genuine person who rose above adversity and saw the better in everyone. He used to bring me red licorice which he knew was my favorite. He brought it to me for years long after I was no longer on his team. The world and Staples has lost a great person today. He will be enormously missed. Goodbye my dear friend.

I am so sorry for your loss. Thought and prayers are with his family in this difficult time.
He will be truly missed by this Staples family. I have had the pleasure of being a John's teammate for the last 4 years and co-worker even longer.
John had one of the biggest hearts that I have ever known. He use to come in and leave us treats at our desk sometimes. He was always willing to trade a shift if it meant helping out one if his teammates to make it to a child's event.
I am truly saddened by his passing and pray that he is in a better place now.

John was a great colleague to work with. He was a selfless teammate who would do anything for his coworkers. He also had a very dry sense of humour which I and many at Staples will miss. My condolences to his friends and family.
