Obituary of William "Lindsay" McPhee
McPHEE – William Lindsay, age 77, passed away on August 27, 2018 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Windsor, NS on June 7, 1941, he was the son of the late Arthur McPhee and Annie Grant of Gore. Lindsay was employed in accounting with Ultramar/Texaco Refinery in Eastern Passage for 29 years. He enjoyed sailing, game hunting in Moser River, and especially moose hunting in Newfoundland. Lindsay was diagnosed in 2011 with Parkinson’s, PSP. A history buff and avid reader, he was extremely proud of his heritage and ancestry. Lindsay is survived by his wife of 36 years, Barbara (Uloth); his children from a previous marriage, Thomas McPhee (Nancy McLeod), Toronto, ON and Chantal McPhee (David Saucy), Saint John, NB; two granddaughters, Hannah and Emma Saucy; sisters, Marjorie Lewis, Montana; Sheila (Lawrence) Anthony, and Isabelle (Stephen) Zwerling; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Lindsay was predeceased by his brother, Grant. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request; a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 1:30pm at J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook, Rev. Natalie Buchanan-Rutherford officiating. Following the service, there will be a reception at the funeral home, with a private burial at Centre Gore Community Cemetery.
