Obituary of Judith Lorraine Withrow
WITHROW – Judith “Judy” Lorraine, age 71, of South Maitland, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2018 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Upper Kennetcook on July 21, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Hibbert and Thelma (Gill) Miller. Judy worked at Mount Saint Vincent University, H.H. Marshalls, and Freeze & Roy’s General Store in Maitland. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed cross stitch and attending jamborees. Judy is survived by her husband, Leon Withrow; son, Rodney Miller (April), and Jody Withrow, whom she raised as her own; her stepchildren, Ron Withrow (Dana) and Charlene Brightman (Ronnie); her grandchildren, Max (her newest grandson), Seth, Eric, and Ainsley; her sisters, Joy (Merril), Marsha (Noyce), and Doreen; her brother Keith (Jean), her sister-in-law Deanna, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Waynie and brother-in-law Rodrick. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request; a private graveside service will be held at the South Maitland Cemetery, Rev. Natalie Buchanan-Rutherford officiating. A reception open to everyone will be held at the Maitland Fire Hall from 1:30-3:30pm on Saturday, September 29.
