Obituary of Minnie Burgess
BURGESS- Minnie Elizabeth, age 81 of East Walton passed away peacefully on March 17th, 2019 at Vimy Court Nursing Home, Bible Hill. Born in Pembroke on March 1st, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Mae (Patterson) Cox. Minnie was an avid Volunteer and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Walton Lighthouse and East Walton Community Hall. She had a passion for quilting, going on bus tours with her friends and shopping, especially at Value Village. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Vandorpe (Stephen Fields) , Marilyn ( Terry Wutzke) and Mavis (Dean Aza) and son Michael. Grandchildren, Jessica ( Dawson Wambolt) and Christopher Vandorpe; Amelia, Andrea and Anthony Cox, Keith ( Danielle) and Kenneth Lantz, Brenden and Makayla Burgess; great granddaughters; Hailie and Brynn Lantz and Ashlyn Pearch-Burgess, great grandsons; Grayson Martin Pearch-Burgess and Cole Lantz. sister; Penny ( Jolson) Sanford; ,brothers, Bob, Randy (Valerie) and Francis ( Sandra); Sister in-law , Norma Cox and Brother in-law, Wilson Gould and many nieces and nephews. Minnie was predeceased by her husband Mickey, her son Martin, Sisters; Jean Lake, Agnes Gould and Karen Brown; Brothers, Donald, Edgar Jr, twin brother Marvin, Kenny, sister in-law; Cora Cox, brother in-law; Dennis Lake. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 20th, From 6 to 8pm and Funeral service Thursday at 2pm, both in the J Wilson Allen Funeral Home HWY 354 Kennetcook, Rev Karen Lynch Officiating. Private family burial in the Grace United Church Cemetery, Walton and a reception following the burial at the Walton Fire Hall, Walton.
