Obituary of Leon Withrow

Withrow- Leon Joshua, 70, South Maitland, passed away at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, Nova Scotia on Wednesday March 27, 2019. Leon was born in South Maitland, Nova Scotia on January 7th, 1949. He was the son of the late Ross and Florence (Hill) Withrow.He was the widower of Judy Lorraine Withrow. They shared many years of marriage together. He worked as an Ironworker a member of local 752, travelling all over the Maritime Provinces, out West, the Cayman Islands and Bermuda. He enjoyed hunting, going to car shows, and visiting his friends to hear and tell a good story.

He is survived by his children, Ronald (Dana) Withrow (son of Marilyn), Charlene (Ronnie) Brightman (Daughter of Marilyn) and Jody Withrow (Son of Elaine)Step Children Rodney (April) Miller (Son of Judy), Melanie (Dayn) Tedford (Daughter of Elaine).Grandchildren, Eric Brightman, Seth Withrow, Ainsley Brightman and Max Miller.Also survived by sisters Robena (Babe) Miller and Martha Clooney,Brothers Lyman (Bus) Withrow and Perry (Freda) Withrow.Predeceased by brothers William Withrow and Donald Withrow.

Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request.A family graveside service will be held at the South Maitland Cemetery, Rev Natalie Buchanan-Rutherford officiating. Following the burial, a reception open to everyone will be held at the Maitland Fire Hall, Saturday, April 6th from 2:30pm-4:30pm.
