Dear White and Beach Families, Janie and I were schoolmates at the old Kennetcook School Number 41..All those years ago, her father Maurice and brother Theodore worked at my father, Jim MacAskill’s, mill.. I especially remember Maurice who was a gentle, sweet man.. I always think of the family when I pass the Beach home on the way to Upper Kennetcook..To all those who love Janie I send sincere condolences..Dawn MacAskill Cumming.

I remember Aunt Janie telling me the story about how she came to play the guitar. None of her brothers would teach her so she waited until they left and she picked up the guitar and taught herself how to play, there’s no one that could pick the guitar and mandolin like Aunt Janie could , we will all miss you so much, I could probably share lots of memories of you but I’d have to write a book, love you
