McLaughlin, Joan Doreen Age 80 of Glen Haven. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Joan McLaughlin, Thursday, February 6, 2025, at the Northwoodcare Facility in Halifax. Born on August 29, 1944, in Halifax, Joan was the daughter of the late Bert Smith and Edna (Walter) Powell.

Joan will be remembered by her family and friends as a kind and loving soul who enjoyed gardening, crafts and her pets.

She is survived by her sister, Cassie (Bill) McLellan of Moose Brook, and brother, Barry (Rosemary) Smith of Glen Haven, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Joan is predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, Vincent Patrick McLaughlin.

A service honoring Joan's life will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 2pm in the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, 4646 Hwy 215, Summerville, (902) 633-2431, Rev. Jackie Harvey officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cambridge Cemetery.
