Judy Morrison Obituary

Judith "Judy" (Anderson) Morrison (Sept. 19, 1939-Feb. 17, 2025)

It is with profound sadness and grief the family of Judy Morrison regretfully announce the passing of a wonderful, sister, aunt and friend. After a long illness, Judy passed away at the QE2 hospital (New Infirmary Site) on February 17th, 2025 with her baby sister, Michele (Shelly) at her side.

Judy lived a lot in her 85years and was loved dearly by not only her family but also loved by her friends and coworkers. She loved to have fun and had a wicked sense of humour. She was down to earth and a joy to be around. Everyone loved her.

Judy was widowed at a young age and never had children of her own. Her love of children was obvious and demonstrated by the amount of time she spent with her nieces and nephews. She was like a second mom. Judy’s kindness and caring was endless. She was devoted to her mother whom she took care of for many years until her passing.

Judy was a valued employee of CTV/CJCH for many years and missed upon retirement. She loved her game shows and Bingo. She was an avid crafter and especially loved to knit/crochet many hats and mittens for everyone. She has left many crocheted baby blankets, sweaters, and adorable stuffed animals for her great and great-great nieces and nephews that will be treasured for years to come. She earned the title of greatest aunt.

Judy loved her siblings fiercely. She was very close with her sisters, Mary & Shelly and her brother, Barry. She loved spending time with them and was in touch consistently. They will miss her dearly.

Judy leaves behind her brother Barry Anderson (Marilyn) and sisters: Mary Sweeney and Michele Stephen. She also leaves many nieces, Kimberley, Cindy, Nichole, Marla, Terrylyn, Nephews Jeffery, Darrell, Billy and Vernon great nieces and nephews as well as great-great nephews and a niece. She also leaves behind many dear friends who became family (at her home in Halifax)

She was predeceased by her loving parents Arthur and Hilda (Slavin) Anderson, her husband James, her childhood brothers Artie and Micheal as well as her sisters Valerie McRobie and Gail Currie. She was sadly predeceased by nieces Debbie and Mary Ellen and brother in laws Bill McRobie, Alex Stephen and Frank Sweeney.

If inclined, a donation to any charity in her namewould be appreciated. We know this would make her smile.

Cremation has taken place and at Judy’s request there will be no visitation or service at this time.
