Burns Vera Helen; 90 of Upper Kennetcook, it is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Vera Burns, who passed away April 21 /2025 at the Colchester East Hants Health Center, Truro, with her children by her side.
Born in Wolfville NS to Morris and Lottie [Ells] Beach she is survived by her 9 children Dorothy, Lois [Timmy], Grant [Marg] Darlene [Roy] Cathy, Jean [Amos] Charlotte [George] Christena [Larry] Robbie [Pam]; 20 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild; sister Mable, and brother Clyde [Francis] along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mum devoted her life to her family, always present and provided a safe place. She was a true testament of love, kindness and grace.
To all her grandchildren, she was known as the WORLD'S GREATEST NANNIE.A title she fulfilled everyday without even trying.
Mum enjoyed singing and playing musical instruments with her sisters and brothers, she enjoyed Bingo, playing cards until the wee hours of the morning. Mum was well known for her baking, especially her donuts and fudge. Mum always provided a spot for family and friends, where many memories were made.
Always loved and never forgotten. Thank you so much for your unwavering love and guidance Mum.
Besides her parents she is predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years Frank Burns. Son Gordon, Daughter Carolyn and a baby at infancy. Grandsons Christopher Clark, Kaiden Horton, Brothers Bill, Stan, Charlie, Theodore, Harry, Henry Earl, Walter, Sisters Grace, and Janie Sons in-law Murray White and Joe White.
Special thanks to the VON nurses and the Palliative Care unit at the hospital.
In keeping with moms wishes there will be no visitation, and a private burial will take place at a later date,
