It is with great sadness and broken hearts that the family of Muriel Evelyn McLellan, 80, of Westphal, formerly of Moose Brook, announce her passing on April 27, 2025, at the Dartmouth General Hospital, with her loving family by her side.

Born in Windsor Hospital, Hants County on May 29, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Emmerson and Elsie (Wilson) Laffin.

Mom was married to the one true love of her life, Frederick (Freddy, Fred) McLellan of East Walton, Hants County. He predeceased her on September 13, 2013, as well as her father in 1986, her mother in 2015 and her sister, Vivian Josey, in 2020.

She leaves to mourn her daughters, Glenna McLellan, Dartmouth, Ruby Smith (Brian), Greenwood and her son, Nelson (Birgitt) McLellan, Porters Lake. Grandchildren: Amanda (Dezzy), Shelby (Geno) and Shane Chambers (Coretta); Travis West (Natasha), Jacob Smith (Mary), Abbigail Young (Tim), Sophie McLellan; honorable grandchild, Matthew Thompson, and her much loved and adored great grandchildren, TJ and Aleah Cromwell, Raya Simmons.

She is also survived by her brother, Lewis Laffin (Cathy), sister, Donna Laffin (Dennis Smith), brother-in-law, Reid Josey, and many other sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends, especially Dave and Maxine Mills.

Mom loved to have visits from her many friends and family. She loved Christmas, especially family Boxing Day dinners. She loved to go away on trips and went to Disney with her great grandchildren in 2023, and Alaska in 2024. In her spare time, she liked to do sudoku and lexicon puzzles, fill in the word books and read. Mom worked for many years at Finlay Community Centre as a childcare provider.

Visitation will be held for family and friends on May 14th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Highway 354, Kennetcook.

Funeral service will be held on May 15th, at 12:00 pm at the Noel United Church, Noel, Hants County. Reverend Mike Poworoznyk officiating. Reception to follow in the Noel Firehall, Noel, Hants County.

Following the service, burial will take place in Tennecape Cemetery, Tennecape.

Family flowers only please. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tennecape Cemetery fund or a charity of your choice.
