Janice Burns Obituary

Janice Darlene Burns, age 68, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025, at Colchester East Hants Health Center in Truro, NS. Born in Upper Kennetcook on Nov. 11, 1956, she was a daughter of the late George & Neta [Hanes] Burns.

She is survived by her two daughters, LynAnn [Brian] Kieller and Shauna Hill, and four grandchildren: Griffin, Taryn, Emmalyn and Mason; sister Lorraine [Mickey] Royles; brothers Wayde [Debbie] and Tim [Kim] Burns; nieces Trish Royles, Tessa Kennedy, and nephew Justin Burns.

Janice was a warm and loving person, enjoying good times and good laughs with family and friends.

She spent most of her working life helping others, until forced to retire due to health issues. For the past several years the telephone has been her main connection to the people she loved, and we will treasure memories of long, cheerful conversations with her … conversations that would end with her declaration, “Love you all!”.

Cremation has taken place. At Janice’s request there will be no funeral or visitation – just a gathering of those close to her at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 354 Kennetcook, phone 902-362-2440 or please visit our website at www.allenfh.ca to sign the guest book or send private condolences.
