Kenneth "Ken" Bruce Obituary

The family of the late Kenneth Aubrey Bruce, 78, Upper Sackville are saddened to announce that Ken passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2025, at the QE11, Halifax, NS. Ken was born August 27, 1946, in Noel Road, he was the eldest son of the late Aubrey & Cora (Huntley) Bruce.


He spent his younger years in Walton & still considered it home & enjoyed his time there. He has lived in Upper Sackville since 1971.


He was predeceased by his sister Lynda (2008) & his brother Kendall (2021).


Ken is survived by & will be missed deeply by his wife & soul mate of nearly 59 years Marion (Wilcox) Bruce, son Kelly & his wife Paula, granddaughter Krysi & her husband Stephen, great grandson Myles, brother Kevin (Rebecca) & several nieces & nephews. He will also be missed by Duchess, a little dog that stole his heart.


Ken spent 30+ years working at the Imperial Oil Esso Refinery in Dartmouth, NS. He enjoyed many hobbies including Ham Radio VE1 KB, antique autos and playing guitar & singing old time country music in local dance bands, fund raisers & jam sessions. Ken was also very generous with his time & knowledge fixing just about anything mechanical for family, friends & neighbors. Ken & his son Kelly spent a lot of time together designing, building & perfecting various things. Ken would never shy away from a project, especially if he was told it couldn't be done.


We would like to thank the Sackville Fire Dept., Paramedics & all the Doctors & Nurses at the Cobequid Center and QE11 ICU 5-2.

A grave side service will be held at the Pembroke Cemetery, Pembroke Hants Co., August 22nd at 2 p.m., Rev. Mike Poworoznyk officating.
