It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Emma Suzanne Theriault, who left us peacefully on August 21, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Sue was born on February 12, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a cherished mother, daughter, sister, and friend whose life was defined by her kindness, faith, strength, and generosity. Her generosity and support extended to community functions and fundraising, where she shared her talents through making crafts and quilts, leaving a lasting impact on all who benefited from her work.
Those who knew Sue will remember her unwavering compassion, her ability to bring comfort to others, and the grace with which she faced life’s challenges. She built a life filled with love, friendship, and purpose, leaving a legacy that will endure in the hearts of those she touched.
Sue was predeceased by her parents and by her beloved husband of 56 years, Gerald. She will be deeply missed by her brother Norman (Doris); her daughter Cindy (Barry); her sons Gerald Jr. (Marina) and Garth; her beloved grandchildren Jacob, Morgan, Jordan, Madison, Grace, and Abigail; her great-grandson Thomas; and her best friend for many years, Betty Parker, along with many extended family and friends who were blessed to know her.
A service to celebrate Sue’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Summerville Fire Hall, Pastor Betty Parker officiating, followed by a visitation from 2:30 – 4:00. A private family interment to follow at Kempt Shore United Church Cemetery.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and care workers at Valley Regional Hospital for their support and compassion during this time.
