Wesley "Wes" Macumber Obituary

On Saturday, October 18 our dad, Wesley Bruce Macumber aka Big Wes, went home to heaven to join his mom dad siblings and many old friends who he missed and cherished deeply. Born in Bramber on April 30, 1949, to Everett Macumber and Ada-Belle Macumber (Mills) he was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Dad often spoke of the good old days and how much he missed the way things used to be. Dad loved to share old memories of a Friday night poker game at Burton’s and his days working at Sylvania, a job he loved. He found peace and often spoke of how nice it will be the day the lord decides to call him home so he could once again reunite with them all.

His love for hunting and fishing will live forever in the hearts of his boys. Dad took great pride in teaching them everything he knew. And was always looking forward to that next great hunt with one of his hunting buddies. Dad loved all eight of his children and had a special relationship with each. He was a proud grandad and Papa to his grandchildren who brought DAD more joy than anything else on this earth. In later years, his Saturdays were spent searching yard sales for necklaces that he proudly gifted to his girls each week.

Dad loved That he was admired by so many and he was the proud bonus dad and granddad to half of Hants County. Each Saturday night dad enjoyed the county classic’s and reminisced. Now we ask you to do the same. Have a beer and remember him.

Dad is survived by his children and his boys. Shelley (Steve), Aaron (Chelsea), Barry (Amanda), Andrew (Melissa), Kimberly (Nathan), Emily (Chris), Jeremy (Mona), Wesley Jr (Dana), Lucas (Daphne), Logan (Alyssa)and his many grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved and admired him deeply.

Dad was thankful for his two marriages and the love and memories they both gave him.

Please help us celebrate dad’s life over music and drinks Friday October 24th 6-9 pm at the centre Burlington Hall.

Dad will be laid to rest Saturday at the Bramber cemetery in a private graveside burial with his children and grandchildren as per his request.

You’re finally home with your mom dad. We love you and we’ll miss you forever.
