Mary King Obituary

Mary E. King (MEK) b. 7 September 1955 d. 20 October 2025

Mary passed away in the Hants Community Hospital in Windsor, Nova Scotia, on October 20, 2025. Born on September 7, 1955, in Windsor, Mary was the youngest child of the late Michael E. King and Margaret Anne King.

Mary leaves her partner David Angus, and his children Simone and Hannah Kenney. She will be missed by her dog, Max and cats, Lucy and Joey. She is survived by her two brothers, Jim and Peter, in Ontario and her sister Margie in Canning, Nova Scotia.

Besides her parents, Mary is predeceased by her eldest brother, Michael Edward who passed as a child.

Mary graduated from Saint Mary's University with a split major in Economics and Asian Studies. She had a full career with the Nova Scotia Museum, the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, and the Public Archives of Nova Scotia.

Mary faced many health challenges throughout her life with grace and strength. She battled with Type 1 Diabetes for most of her adult life. This past year she was diagnosed with Alzheimer, but it was the diabetes in the end that took her from us.

Her family is deeply grateful to the many medical professionals who cared for her with dedication and kindness over the years. Mary had two passions in life: acapella Barbershop music and travelling/trekking in Nepal, Europe, Africa, and India. She was a very keen member of Harmony Inc. for decades and performed with many chorus' and quartets over the years. She enjoyed every minute of it.

Mary requested there be no celebration of life, gatherings, or services. She will be cremated, and her ashes will be scattered in accordance with her wishes.

A Mhàiri ghràidh ghràdhaich mi thu le m' uile chridhe. Tapadh leibh airson a h-uile rud. Bidh mi gad ionndrainn gu mòr.
