Goldie White Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Goldie Lillian (Harvie) White, born October 12th, 1939, of Magnolia Nursing Home, Enfield, formerly of Noel Road passed away peacefully on November 30th, 2025, at the age of 86, at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre.

Goldie spent many years volunteering with the church, cemetery, and the Little White Hall, where she met countless wonderful friends. She cherished her time with them, whether organizing community events or quilting together, and her dedication helped shape the heart of the community she loved so deeply.

She had a great love for racing, and she and Ronald often didn’t see eye to eye on their favourite drivers. Her little grin when her driver won said it all. Goldie was wonderfully stubborn and rarely gave in, something she passed on to all of us. Her love for her family, however, was steadfast and unconditional. She supported us in everything we did, and when her grandchildren arrived, her joy only grew. She loved movie time, playing cards, making brown rolls, and watching them grow.

Goldie never believed she would live to see great-grandchildren. When Everly arrived, she was thrilled to embrace a new generation, passing on everything she could, including, of course, how to cheat at cards, a cherished family tradition.

Goldie is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Ronald White; her children Darlene (Bill) White, Marlene (David) Meehan, Harry Ross (Shirley) White, and Michelle (Carl) Langille; her grandchildren Olivia (Kai), Emily (Randy), Adam (Katie), Patricia, and Cassie; her great-granddaughter Everly; and many nieces and nephews.

Goldie was predeceased by her mother, Grace Saulnier; her brothers, Jim Harvie and Joe Saulnier; and her sister and best friend, Helen Laffin.

We, the family, cannot thank the staff at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre and the Magnolia enough for the wonderful care she received.

At Goldie’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Little White Hall in Noel Road on December 21st from 1pm-3pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Goldie’s memory may be made to the Noel Road Willing Workers Community Club, c/o Krista White, 6784 Hwy 354, Kennetcook, NS B0N 1T0.
