Ralph Brown Obituary

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of our loved one Ralph Gordon Brown. Born April 20, 1935, in Minasville to the late Emma A. Brown he passed away suddenly on Dec. 2, 2025, in the C.E.H.H.C., Truro.

Ralph was a self-made man and very well known and respected by everyone for his hard work. He had a great work ethic, and everyone respected him and followed his rules. He always said “If you open a door or gate, close it, no ifs, ands or buts.

He leaves to mourn his wife of 65 years Isabelle (Kitchin), daughter Margaret (Tom), son Jim (Carol), Granddaughter Jessica (Barry), Grandsons Cody (Beth) and Jordon and his special dog “Miss Ruby”.

Besides his mother, he is predeceased by his oldest son Bill (Oct. 25, 2025, and brother Phillip.

He built a dairy farm from a few cream cows and with hard work made a good life for himself, his wife and their 3 children, after buying the farm from his uncle Oscar in 1968. He kept expanding it and improving it until retiring then became a woods contractor cutting from many locals before giving up the beef and running the 4-man woods crew, as well as mowing many fields all the way to upper Kennetcook right to the day of his passing.

He was an active man for 90 years and the day before his passing he was in the woods cutting small trees for around the front step where he was putting the Christmas lights when he suddenly became ill, he worked right to the very end!

Our family would like to thank Hospital staff in emergency for their concern for our family at the Truro Hospital and the staff at E.H.S. for their love and concern for Ralph at home in his final hours.

In memory donations can be made to the Moosebrook Chapel and Cemetery fund or the Noel Volunteer Fire Dept.
