Helena Ann Sanford, Ct. Burlington passed away on June 9,2026, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the beloved wife of Arthur E. Sanford, with whom she shared 62 wonderful years of marriage filled with devotion, laughter, and unwavering support.

Helena was born in Summerville on August 28, 1943, and was the cherished daughter of the late Howard and Lorna (Lake) Spencer. She was a devoted mother to her three children, Bonnie, Bill (Tracy), and Kendall (Laura), who will forever treasure the love and guidance she gave them throughout their lives.

She was a proud and loving grandmother to Allison (Cory) Hirschfeld and Dylan (Courtney) Sanford, and an adoring great-grandmother to Walker and Anthony Hirschfeld and Dealia Sanford. Her family was the center of her world, and she found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved.

Helena is also survived by her siblings Larry, Bruce, Donnie, and Kenny. She was predeceased by her siblings Joan, Charlie, Brian, and Lester.

Helena had a special gift for making a house feel like a home. She loved baking and gardening, and she took great pride in caring for her family. Whether through a homemade treat, tending to her flowers, or simply being there when someone needed her. Helena touched the lives of many with her kindness, warmth, and generosity.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the HCH Staff and Dr. Smith for the compassionate care and support they provided to Helena.

Helena’s love, strength, and dedication to her family will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Cremation has taken and a private family burial will take place at a later date in the Card Beach Cemetery, Ct.Burlington.
