It is with great sadness that the family of Stephen Edward McKenzie of Cogmagun, Nova Scotia, announce his passing on June 29, 2026, at Hants Community Hospital, with his loving family by his side.

He is predeceased by his mother, Edna Jollymore, and his father, Clarence McKenzie.

Stephen is survived by his beloved wife, Shelley; his sons, Matthew (Tierza) of Edmonton and Steve of Cogmagun; his cherished grandchildren, Hunter and Madison; his brothers, Ken and Kevin (Donna); his nephew, Edward; and his nieces, Desiree and Candace.

Stephen dedicated 47 years of service to the Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education. Falmouth Elementary School was his second home, where the staff and students were like family to him.

He enjoyed a great conversation with family, friends, and anyone he crossed paths with. He was known for his wonderful sense of humour and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

His family was the center of his world, especially his granddaughter, Madison, who had him wrapped around her finger.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful nurses and doctors of the 200 Unit at Hants Community Hospital for the compassionate care they provided.

Burial will take place at Sandy Land Cemetery in Cogmagun.

Stephen loved a good glass of rum, so in his memory, raise your glass!
