It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of John Leonard Reynolds, who left us on July 24, 2026, at the Mira Nursing Home in Truro, NS.

Born in Minasville, Hants County on February 20, 1941, John was the son of Wallace and Pearl (Crossman) Reynolds. He began his career with the Bank of Nova Scotia and went on to work with several organizations throughout his life, spending 17 dedicated years with Schneider Electric in Truro. After retiring, he enjoyed driving cars for Avis and Budget Rent a Car for a decade.

John is lovingly remembered by his wife Penny, with whom he shared 58 years; his daughters Susanne, Trish (Bernie), and Lindsay; and his grandchildren Ben and Avery. He is also survived by his sisters Maud, Paulina, Margaret, and Shirley and brother in law Garfield Beckman.

He was predeceased by his parents, Pearl and Wallace; his brother Don; his sisters Jennie and Charlotte; and his siblings Anna and Lewis, both of whom passed in infancy, as well as his brothers-in-law Kenneth, William, Jim, and Lloyd

In his spare time, John found joy in going to car races, attending bluegrass festivals, and playing crib. Donations in John’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or to a charity of your choice.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Mira Nursing Home for the exceptional care and compassion shown to John during his time there.

Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at Sandy Hill Cemetery in Belnan on August 14th at 11a.m.
