It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Eleanor "Mae" Hill (formerly Mae Harvie, nee Scott), aged 95, passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, August 20th, at Opal Ridge Lodge in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Mae will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Vernon Hill; her daughter, Norma Harvie; her three grand-daughters, Tracy Hennigar, Angela (Andy) Dale and Karen (James) Duncan; and her four great grand-children, Elizabeth Dale, Spencer Dale, Sidney Duncan and Lukas Duncan. As well as stepchildren Owen (Marlene) Hill, Cheryl White, Curtis Hill, Noreen (Dan) Singer, and Ricky (Lana) Hill. She will also be fondly remembered by Avery Harvie who she considered a son. Not to mention never being forgotten by all the many friends and acquaintances who were touched by her gentle spirit and kindness.

Mae was predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Leola Scott (nee McCulloch); her husband Bradford Harvie; and her daughter, Betty (Lee) Hennigar and son, Reggie, who passed away in infancy. As well as her siblings, Curtis (Joan), McCulloch, Vernon (Vickie), Blair, Delbert (Bernice), Ronald, Roger (Susan), Rayburn (Edith), Iona (Wallace)White.

She is survived by siblings Dora (John) Hobin, Darlene (Orlee) White, Donna (Nelson) White, Debbie Scott, and Relman (Nettie) Scott.

The family would like to take this opportunity to offer their especially heartfelt thanks to Brie and Amy at Opal Ridge Lodge for their exceptionally loving care for Mae over the past few months. It was a blessing to know that you were there when she needed you.

As per the wishes of the family, there will be a private family graveside service at a later date. Memorial donations on behalf of Mae may be made to the charity of your choice.
