FAIRN - Twila Dawn (Strong), age 65, of Halifax, formerly of Scotch Village, passed away on May 17, 2016 at the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax. Born in Scotch Village on December 15, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Moston and Ida (Leopold) Strong. Twila is survived by six brothers, Laurie, Mostyn, Chris (Jeannine), and Leigh (Evelyn), of Scotch Village, Wray (Judy Bonnell), of Martin's River; and Burten (Sylvia), of Greenwood; one sister, Marlene (Tony) MacDougall, of Ontario; six step-children; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Twila was predeceased by her husband, Donald Fairn; sister, Martha, in infancy; sister-in-law, Mabel Strong; nephew, Peter Strong; and great-nieces, Megan and Kayla Ehler, in infancy. We wish to thank the doctors and nursing staff at the hospital for looking after Twila. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at Newport Baptist Church at 2pm on July 30, 2016, Pastor Rick Manuel officiating. Donations in memory of Twila may be made to the Newport Baptist Church, 929 Hwy 236 Box 2 B8, Scotch Village NS, B0N2G0 or a charity of one's choice.
