Obituary of Lowell Ward

Ward, Lowell Whitman-78, Stewiacke, formerly from East Walton, passed away on May 7, 2014 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, NS. Born in Brooklyn, Hants County, on December 27,1935, he was the son of the late Nathan and Alverta (Lake) Ward. He will always be missed by wife Vera nee (Bennedict) (Dodge) Ward; his daughters; Sharron Ward, Valarie Ward, Peggy (Mike) Sofocleous and son Lowell Ward Jr., brothers; John (Dorothy) Ward, Ken (Mary) Ward, Bill (Pat) Ward, Blois Ward; sisters, Elsie (Edward) McGrory, Margie Lake, Grace Thomas and Jackie (Moe) Archibald, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild, his stepchildren; Bruce Dodge, Donna Lee Hebb, Bonnie Enns, Brian Dodge and Hal Dodge and many nieces and nephews. Lowell and Vera helped to raise a grandson Nick Doucette. Lowell was predeceased by his brother Charlie Ward and brother in-law Milton Lake. Lowell enjoyed singing and playing his guitar at many jam sessions around Hants County. He also liked to hunt and fish. Most of all Lowell enjoyed being around family and friends, sharing many stories from his past. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 10, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the Grace United Church, Walton, NS. Interment will follow in Tennecape Cemetery, Tennecape NS. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to The Lung Association of Nova Scotia. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the J.
