Lyon, David William-74, Windsor, formerly of Avondale, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2014 in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, N.S. Born on March 2, 1940, he was a son of the late John and Lillian (Riley) Lyon. David was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed fast cars in his younger days. He is survived by brothers Earl (Anne), Middle Stewiacke, Roy (Juanita), Shubenacadie, Donald, Mount Uniacke, Gary (Betty), Summerville, Ralph, Windsor, Reg (Paulette), Poplar Grove and sister Mildred (Leonard) Levy, Sunken Lake, Kings Co.; and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request. A graveside committal service will be held Friday May 30 at 2 p.m. in the Newport Landing Cemetery, Avondale, with Rev. Tom Henderson officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice. A reception to follow in the Avondale Community Hall, Avondale.
