White, Linda May - 76, of North Noel Road, N.S. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, who died peacefully on June 9, 2014 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro with her family at her side. Born in North Noel Road on May 2, 1938, Linda was the daughter of the late Emerson and Mary "Mazie" (Anthony) White. Linda was a proud mother and grandmother, who will be dearly missed by all. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, TV bingo, camping, darts, and her little companion Tails. In her early years, Linda worked in the logging camps for her brothers as a cook; later she cooked in local canteens for her brothers, and retired from Mount Saint Vincent University where she worked for 15 years as a housekeeper. Linda is survived by her daughters Shelly (Kenney) White, of North Noel Road, Charlene (Kent) Parks, of Kennetcook, and son Jason (Pam) White, of North Noel Road; grandchildren Colton White, Chelsea White (Lance Young), Caitlin Parks (Anthony Miller), Cassie Parks, Drake White, and Peyton White; brother Russell (Eleanor) White, of Kennetcook; sister Inez (Clyde) Laffin, of Noel; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; many nieces and nephews and friends. Linda was predeceased by her husband Maurice White; brothers Stanley, Melbourne, Raymond, Clair, Angus, Leslie, Arnold, and an infant brother Maurice; and sisters Hilda and Rita. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by family request. A memorial service will take place Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 2:00pm in the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 354, Kennetcook, Chuck Paterson officiating, with a private family interment in the North Noel Road Cemetery. Following the service there will be a reception in the Rainbow Community Hall (Green Hall), North Noel Road. Family flowers only; donations can be made to St. Paul's United Church, Canadian Cancer Society, or charity of choice. The family would like to thank the staff on the 3rd Floor/D Wing and the Palliative Care Unit for the care given to their mother during her stay at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre. Thanks also to Dr. Pelley, Mom's family doctor for her care through the years; Dr. Daryl White, nurse "Sandra" and the staff at the Medical Day Unit at the Dickson Building, VG for their kindness and care given to Mom for the last several years prior to Mom's final illness.
