Obituary of Nellie White

White, Nellie Marlene - age 78, of Kennetcook, passed away on July 9, 2014 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Noel on March 21, 1936, Nellie was a daughter of the late Guy and Charlotte (Hennigar) Laffin. Nellie enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting, and was an avid quilter. Nellie is survived by her husband, Perry White, of Kennetcook; her son, Lionel (Kim) White, of Kennetcook; her granddaughter, Cindy White (Chris), of Londonderry; her sisters, Lona Joan Parks, of Kingston, N.S. and Phyllis McGoogan, of Peterborough, Ont., and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Nellie was predeceased by her sister, Grace Morehouse (Cook). Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request. A graveside committal service will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 2pm at the St. James Presbyterian Cemetery, Noel Road, Rev. Angus R. MacDonald officiating. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Nellie may be made to the St. James Presbyterian Cemetery, c/o Goldie White, White Settlement Road, RR2 Kennetcook, N.S. B0N 1P0 or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
