Benedict, Ronald "Ron" Noel, 77, of Windsor, formerly of Riverside, passed away on September 3, 2014 in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Riverside on June 7, 1937, Ronald was a son of the late Preston Edgar Masters and Myrtle Alice (Sanford) Benedict. He worked at CN for 31 years. Known affectionately as "Poppy", he was an avid hunter who enjoyed spending time at his camp in the woods and keeping company with the Captain. Ronald loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and will be dearly missed. Ronald is survived by his daughter, Kim (Wayne) Wile; his grandchildren, Candace (Scott) White and Chad (Charmaine) Wile; his great-grandchildren, Julian, Lily, Brandi, Marissa, and Kalon; his sisters, Phyllis (Ron) Spencer, Marguerite (Harold) Wile, Doris (Graham Sanford) Lunn, and Juanita (Donnie) Grimes; his brother, Wayne Benedict; his sisters-in-law, Shirley Benedict and Rosie Benedict; and many nieces and nephews. Ronald was predeceased by his wife, Lillian "Lil" (Card) Benedict, and his brothers, Delbert, Wilbert, and Stephen. A special thank you to the nurses at the Hants Community Hospital Unit 500 for their compassion and caring; they went above and beyond every day caring for Poppy. Cremation has taken place with visitation to be held on Friday, September 5, 2014 from 7-9pm at the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Summerville, with a graveside committal service on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11am in the Riverside Cemetery, New Cheverie Road, Pastor Burt Walsh officiating, followed by a reception at the Centre Burlington Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Riverside Cemetery or charity of choice would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the J.
