Obituary of Gordon Greeno

Greeno, Gordon Dale, 71, of Union Corner, N.S., passed away on September 12, 2014 at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Windsor on February 20, 1943, he was a son of the late Lewis and Clara (Flynn) Greeno. Gordon worked for the Department of Highways, and was renowned in the community for his skill and attention to detail in his upholstery business, which he ran for almost 30 years. He was a wonderful husband and loving son, brother, father, and grandfather, who cherished his family. Gordon is survived by his wife of 42 years, Connie (Smith) Greeno; his daughters, Monica Greeno, of Hubbards, and Cherri (Craig) Parry, of Kitchener, Ont.; his son, Sheldon States, of Falmouth; 10 beautiful grandchildren; his sister, Debbie (John) McGrory, of Kentville; his brothers, Fred (Rita) Greeno, of Sudbury, Ont., and Dave (Donna) Greeno, of Niagara Falls, Ont.; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Gordon was predeceased by his brothers, Donnie, Laurie, and Raymond, in infancy. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 2:00pm at the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Summerville, Rev. Garnet Parker officiating, followed by a reception at the Centre Burlington Hall, with a private family interment to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gordon may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Hants Community Hospital.
