James "Bobby" Hanes Obituary

Hanes, James Bowden "Bobby", age 71, of Upper Kennetcook, passed away on January 4, 2015 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Upper Kennetcook on February 10, 1943, Bobby was a son of the late William and Viola (Miller) Hanes. He worked for 34 years at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, retiring in 1995. Bobby is survived by his wife of 48 years, Norma (Zinck); daughter, Heather; granddaughter, Holly; brother, Kerry; brother-in-law, Charlie Newton; and several nieces and nephews. Bobby was predeceased by his brothers Arthur, Lewis, and Lawrence; and sisters Thelma (Mrs. Charles Newton) and Neta (Mrs. George Burns). Cremation has taken place with no service or visitation by request, with interment to take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Bobby may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, St. Peters Anglican Church Cemetery, or the Palliative Care Unit at CEHHC.
