Celia Gertrude Macumber, age 74, formerly of Pembroke, passed away at the Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth on February 6, 2015. Born in Cambridge on March 10, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Evelyn (Smith) Laffin. Celia devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother, nanny, and great "nanny on the farm". She gave many hours of her time to her community as a volunteer and was a lifetime member of the Walton Shore Firemen's Auxiliary. Celia enjoyed quilting, knitting, tending her flower beds and her greatest joy came from the children in her family. Celia is survived by her husband, Charles; her daughter, Brenda (Keith) , Saint John, NB; and her son, Ivan (Shannon), Pembroke. She was a proud grandmother of 6 grandchildren: Christine (Shane Blount), Barrett, Jason (Lacey Spencer), Odessa, Colton, and Tyson; and 8 great-grandchildren: Sierra, Michael, Kiana, Kaiden, Jacob, Mary, Carter, and Janelle. Celia is also survived by her sister, Sarah "Sadie" Sanford (Frank); her brother, Lewis Laffin (Donna), several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Celia was predeceased by a son, Walter James, in infancy and her brother, Hudson, in infancy. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of Meadowview Landing Wing 1 at the Windsor Elms Village for the loving care they provided to Celia and the thoughtful support they gave to Charlie and family. Special thanks to Shannon and Joanne for their kindness and support. Visitation will be on Monday, February 9 from 6-8pm at the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Summerville. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 10 at 2pm at the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Summerville, Rev. Garnet Parker and Rev.
