Burgess, Malcolm Edward "Mickey", age 81, of East Walton - It is with great sadness and fond memories that we announce the passing of Malcolm Edward "Mickey" Burgess, which occurred on February 26, 2015 at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, with family by his side. Mickey fought a courageous battle up to his last day reminiscing with his family, friends and favorite tunes. Born in East Walton on December 16, 1933, Mickey was the son of the late Edward and Ella (Dill) Burgess. Mickey worked for Dresser Minerals, then Mosher Limestone and was an avid woodsman. He loved tending his farm, his gardens, and his beloved cats. A fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Mickey also enjoyed playing ball, washer toss, and was always eager to display his dancing skills. Mickey is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Minnie; his daughters, Mary Vandorpe (Stephen Fields), Marilyn Lantz (Terry Wutzke), and Mavis (Dean) Aza; son, Michael (Danielle Geddes); grandchildren, Jessica (Dawson Wambolt) and Christopher Vandorpe; Amelia, Andrea (Jeffrey Stevens), and Anthony Cox; Keith (Danielle) and Kenneth Lantz, Brendan (Kaidra MacDow) and Makayla Burgess; great-granddaughters, Hailie and Brynn Lantz, and great-grandson, Grayson Burgess. Besides his parents, Mickey was predeceased by a son, Martin; his sister, Ethel Faulkner; and three siblings in infancy. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 2, from 6-8pm, with a funeral service on Tuesday, March 3 at 2pm, both at the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook, followed by a private family burial at the Grace United Church Cemetery, Walton. Following the service there will be a reception at the Walton Fire Hall commencing at 3:30pm. Donations in memory of Mickey may be made to the SPCA or the Grace United Church Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at the VG (especially Kyle, 6A floor) as well as the Palliative Care team at the Hants Community Hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of J.
