Obituary of Jean Stoodley

Jean Bessie Stoodley, age 88, of Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, formerly of Centre Burlington, passed away on March 29, 2015 at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Kempt Shore on January 20, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Lottie (Wilcox) Salter. Jean worked for some time at Atlantic Photo Supply in Halifax, before returning home to care for her mother and her sister Sarah. She was a community-minded person, who loved flowers and animals. Jean is survived by her son, Garnet Salter, of Centre Burlington; her grandsons Richard (Michelle), of Lower Burlington, and Russell, of Medicine Hat, Alberta; her great-grandchildren Jessica, Colton, Chastity, Jasmine, and Dakota; her sister Stella (Frederick) Price, of Kelowna, BC; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Irene Reid and Sarah Salter; and her brother Delbert, in infancy. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 2pm at the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Summerville, Rev. Debra Mosher officiating, with a private family interment to be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Jean may be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia, the Centre Burlington Cemetery, or a charity of one's choice.
