Elsie M. (Brison) Harvie, of Windsor, formerly of Cheverie - It is with great sadness that the family of Elsie Harvie announce her peaceful passing on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.Born in Cheverie on June 2, 1929 she was a daughter of the late Fred and Margaret (Weatherbee) Brison. Elsie was known for her mischievous sense of humour and superior fashion sense. She loved crossword puzzles, cryptoquotes and she was always up for entertaining and fun times. She was very proud to have fulfilled her childhood dream of being a teacher, and taught school in Curry's Corner, Kempt Shore, Summerville and Windsor. Most of all, Elsie loved spending time with her friends and family, sometimes just for tea or coffee sitting around her kitchen table in Cheverie, going to the dances in Burlington, teasing the staff at Sobeys, or providing treats for her friends at Gladys Manning. Elsie will be lovingly remembered by her children, Susan Harvie-Pettigrew, Truro; Kathryn (Michael) Samson, Halifax; Jackie (Heather) Harvie, Cheverie; and Troy (Vicki) Harvie, Falmouth; her sister, Maudie Baptiste, Windsor; two brothers, Clifford Brison, Cheverie; and Wesley Brison, Windsor; five grandchildren, Kurt, Maggie, Melanie, Sarah, and Caitlyn; three great-grandchildren, Brady, Heidi, and Mason; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, James Archibald Harvie; her sisters, Lucy, Edith, Beatrice, and Jean; and her brothers, George and Laurence. Special thanks to the outstanding staff and residents of Gladys Manning Retirement Home for providing a happy and loving home there the past 5 years. Thank you to Dr. Cathryn Smith, Dr. William Enright and all the doctors and nurses that contributed to her care.Cremation has taken place.
