Obituary of Muriel Green

GREEN, Muriel Pearl, age 77, of Townsview Estates, Truro, formerly of Lower Selmah, passed away on July 8, 2015 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born on May 22, 1938 in North Noel Road, she was the daughter of the late Putman and Pearl Green. Muriel graduated from Windsor Business Academy and worked for several years for the Federal Gov't at Indianbrook Reservation in Shubenacadie. Many will remember her from her days as secretary at Hants North Rural High School. Later in life she was Owner and Publisher of the "Midland News", a weekly paper serving the Hants North area. Muriel was very proud and supportive of her local area. She loved working with young people and was actively involved with the Cobequid Recreation Association. She also helped organize the Red Cross Swimming lessons during the summers. Muriel is survived by her two sons, Timothy and William (Trudy), and granddaughter Kaitlyn (Mitch), all living in Alberta; her sister Betty Miller, brother Leonard Green, and her nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Muriel was predeceased by her sister-in-law Sheila Green and brother-in-law Louis Miller. Cremation has taken place with a family burial at a later date.
