Obituary of Wanetta McLearn

Wanetta Doreen McLearn, age 80, of North Noel Road, passed away on July 19, 2015 at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in North Noel Road on December 3, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Chester and Letita (White) White. Wanetta was a hard worker at various jobs in the community. She enjoyed card parties, and her home was always a gathering place. She was devoted to her family, and will be dearly missed. Wanetta is survived by her son, Timothy (Marlene); her brothers, Wilmot (Adreu), Willis (Erma), Joe (Cathy), Allister (Winnie), Gerald (Jake), and Andy; her sisters, Isabel, Phylis (Ivan), Ethel (Art), and Donna (Gerry); and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Wanetta was predeceased by her husband, Maurice; her brothers, Keith, Howard, and Elmer; her sister Lucy; and siblings Bertha, Laura, and Laurie in infancy. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22 from 7-9pm, with a funeral service on Thursday, July 23 at 2pm, both held at J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook, Rev. Natalie Buchanan-Rutherford officiating. Following the service there will be a private family committal at St. Peters Anglican Church Cemetery, Upper Kennetcook, and a reception at the Green Hall, North Noel Road. Family flowers only; donations in memory of Wanetta may be made to St. Peters Anglican Church Cemetery or North Noel Road Cemetery.
