Frank was a delight in every way - such a spirited fellow, a marvelous dancer, a quick wit, and ever-present twinkle in his eye. What a pleasure to have made his acquaintance.

It is with great sadness that we learn of uncle Franks death. Without fail for the past 25 years he has sent us an extensive news letter of all that he had been up to over the past 12 months. It was full of stories & photos of family & friends, weddings, babies born & everyone having great fun!! He lived life to the full & enjoyed every moment of it. He will be greatly missed by so many. With love from the Lovell family.

Uncle Franklin will always be remembered by us; his big smile, beard, and memory of two stepping at the Reesor ranch in Alberta! He was a fabulous man. Sending love and hugs from Alberta!

To Frank’s Family, I was so very sorry to hear about your dad… I was with Dad (Bill Collins) when he got the news and it broke my heart! Dad and Frank have been friends for over 60 years, and I don’t remember life without Frank as a part of it! So many memories! The dancing...the laughter...the dancing…the old stories…the dancing… I have a picture of us doing the Macarena at my wedding in NL in 1997! Frank was the embodiment of life, fun, and happiness! I loved getting his Christmas letter every year to find out what he was up to next! I can’t imagine the memories my dad has had the past few days... A lifetime of memories! My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you say good-bye to such a remarkable man who was loved and admired by all of us! Frank, may your kind, gentle soul rest in peace...your Newfie family will miss you! Love you Ho-Ho! xo

Sandra and family, I first met your dad in Shearwater as a 17 year old terrified kid in 1979. He left me a "huge" note to call him on the message board in Warrior Block. I recall that same day he, Ingrid and you picked me up in that big old green Volvo wagon and showed me the sights. My friendship and my respect for him and Ingrid were instant and forever. Even after we moved to the valley, when he would visit Ian and others, he would always drop in. When I wasn’t home, I would find a sinister note jammed in my chopping block with my axe stating he was (like I wouldn’t know who “he” was) “coming for me”…. I told dad two weeks ago while in Nfld that I would take my sister Janine to see him this week when she visited from home. Sadly I won’t get that chance now. I regret so much that I never dropped by sooner this summer. Aside from my own father, I respected Frank and his opinions (especially on military/Shearwater) matters more than anyone. I will miss him that great man for sure.
