HARVEY - Daniel "Danny" Grant, age 74, of Scotch Village, passed away on Friday, Oct. 2, 2015 at home with his wife by his side. Born on Nov. 14, 1940 in Union Corner, Hants Co., he was the eldest son of the late William and Alice (Rushforth) Harvey. Danny had many jobs doing mechanic work around Hants Co., and retired from the Department of Transportation in 1996 after 24 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Linda (Day) Harvey; stepdaughter Angela (David) Sangster, Sherbrook, QC; sisters, Minnie (Hughie) Burgess, Newport Station, and Annie Harvey, Dykeland Lodge, Windsor; brother, John (Louise) Harvey, Middleton, NS; two grandchildren, Kassondra Sangster, Hamilton, Ont., and Alexander Sangster, Sherbrook, QC; mother-in-law, Ceretha Walker, Falmouth; two brothers-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends too numerous to name. Besides his parents, Danny was predeceased by his brother, Louis (Louise) Harvey; three half-sisters, Bessie (Ralph) Sanderson, Lily (Elmer) MacPherson, and Gladys Harvey; half-brothers, James (Frances) Harvey and Eddie in infancy; and two brothers who were stillborn. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 7 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Summerville, with a funeral service on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 1pm in the Brooklyn Civic Centre, Brooklyn, Rev. Alex Mosher officiating. Private family interment will take place in the Scotch Village Cemetery. Family flowers only.
