SPENCER - Sharon Margaret (Whitehead) age 70, of Summerville, Hants Co., passed away at home on October 15, 2015. Born in Halifax on November 5, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Clifford Whitehead and Olive (Ernst) Harvie. Sharon loved being close to home with her family and her beloved dogs. She was a wonderful baker who decorated beautiful cakes, and enjoyed working at Dr. Arthur Hines School with her sister-in-law Joan. Sharon also loved sewing, making crafts, and tending to the gardens in her yard. Sharon is survived by her husband of 52 years, Lester; daughters, Wendy Spencer and Sherry (Michael) Morris; son, Reed (Susan); grandchildren, Lester, Charmaine, Tyler, Josh, and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Easton and Diem; and half-sisters, Angela and Betty. Cremation has taken place, with no visitation or service by request. Donations in memory of Sharon may be made to the SPCA Hants Branch, P.O. Box 2274, Windsor, NS, B0N 2T0. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 215, Summerville; 1-902-633-2431.
