Patterson, Frances Gertrude - age 84, of Tenecape, passed away at home on November 18, 2015. Born in East Walton, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Bertha (Lake) Sanford, and was the last surviving member of their family. Known as Nan or Nanny, Frances was a good cook, and no one ever left her house without a lunch and hug. She had a great fondness for owls; her home was decorated with owls of all shapes and sizes. Frances is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ellis; her children, Diane Boylan, Kentville; John (Roberta), Meadow Lake, Sask.; Leigh (Bonny), East Walton; Harry (Donna), Minitonas, Man.; and Terry (Connie), Ste. Marie de Kent, N.B.; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Frances was predeceased by her sisters, Ada Beckman, Ellen Smith, Madge Trask, Blanche Sanford, Mary Wood, and Nelly Mahar; and her brothers, Lloyd, Garfield, Perry, Emmerson, Harry, and Gordon. Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 24 from 2-4pm at the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook. A graveside committal service for Frances and Ellis will be held in Tenecape Cemetery on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 1pm, Rev. Angus R. MacDonald officiating.
