Patterson, Frances Gertrude - age 84, of Tenecape, passed away at home on November 18, 2015. Born in East Walton, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Bertha (Lake) Sanford, and was the last surviving member of their family. Known as Nan or Nanny, Frances was a good cook, and no one ever left her house without a lunch and hug. She had a great fondness for owls; her home was decorated with owls of all shapes and sizes. Frances is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ellis; her children, Diane Boylan, Kentville; John (Roberta), Meadow Lake, Sask.; Leigh (Bonny), East Walton; Harry (Donna), Minitonas, Man.; and Terry (Connie), Ste. Marie de Kent, N.B.; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Frances was predeceased by her sisters, Ada Beckman, Ellen Smith, Madge Trask, Blanche Sanford, Mary Wood, and Nelly Mahar; and her brothers, Lloyd, Garfield, Perry, Emmerson, Harry, and Gordon. Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 24 from 2-4pm at the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook. A graveside committal service for Frances and Ellis will be held in Tenecape Cemetery on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 1pm, Rev. Angus R. MacDonald officiating. Donations in memory of Frances may be made to the Tenecape Cemetery Fund or a charity of one's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of J.
