Lake, Jean Mildred (Cox) - age 85, formerly of East Walton, passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2015 at Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth, her home of the last 4 years, with family and extended WEV family by her side. Born in Pembroke on August 21, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Mae (Patterson) Cox. Jean was a great cook who never used a measuring cup, but always had great spice marble cake, cookies, and a great meal with enough for whoever dropped in. During her years of employment, her favourite job was PCW at Freemasons Home in Windsor. She enjoyed playing bingo, attending the local dances and was a proud lifetime member of the Walton Shore Ladies Auxiliary for more than 37 years (she even had a try driving the fire truck). She will be forever missed by her husband of 65 years, Dennis; daughter, Heather Mae (Gary) Russell; son Barry Dale (Marina); grandsons, Wesley and Kyle (Christina); granddaughters, Melissa (Brandon) Schafer, Krysta (Jeff) Carl, and Kelsie; step-granddaughter Toni Bennett; great-granddaughter Kadence; step-great granddaughter Regan; brothers, Bob, Randy (Valerie), and Francis (Sandra); sisters, Minnie Burgess and Penny (Jolson) Sanford; sister in-law Norma Cox; brother in-law Wilson Gould; and many nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her brothers, Donald, Edgar Jr., Marvin, and Kenny; sisters, Agnes and Karen (Wayne) Brown; sister in-law Cora Cox; and brother in-law Malcolm Burgess. Cremation has taken place; a memorial service will be held on 2pm on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Summerville, Rev.
