PARR - Donald George, age 75, of Walton, passed away on March 4, 2016 at the QEII New Infirmary, Halifax. Born in Bramber on March 29, 1940, he was a son of the late Ray and Elsie (Wilkins) Parr. Don worked for Fundy Gypsum for 14 years and was a long-time volunteer for the Walton Fire Department. He loved camping, bluegrass music and festivals, gardening, hunting, and fishing. Don will be missed by all, especially his favorite cat, "Girl Cat". Don is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carolyn (Weatherbee), who was always by his side; his sons, Philip, Dartmouth; Tony (Elsie), Windsor; and Tim (Judi), Walton; his grandchildren, Matt, Desiree, and Brendan; his mother-in-law, Ferris, Windsor; brothers-in-law, Brian (Belinda), Dartmouth; and Mike, Cambridge; sister-in-law, Lisa (Kim), Bramber; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Don was predeceased by his father-in-law, Charles "Buzz" Weatherbee; his half-brother Robert; and sister-in-law Gloria. Special thanks to Brian, Janet and Rickey; for all you did, we thank you. Cremation has taken place with no visitation or service by request; private interment will take place at a later date.
